Meet Justine: The Woman Who Started It All
In 2018, Justine Mukazungu made a decision that would change hundreds of lives across Eastern Uganda. Armed with a vision and a deep belief in the power of community, she began working with smallholder farmers in Bukedea — a region rich in agricultural potential but short on opportunity.
Her focus was deliberate. She sought out the youth — young mothers, school dropouts, women who had been left behind by the economy but not by their own determination. “I thought I could work with them and also empower women, because I’m a woman,” Justine says.

Today, Stina Foods works with 360 farmers — 80% of them women — under formal memorandums of understanding. The company trains them in agronomy, supplies improved seeds on credit, visits their gardens regularly, and buys their harvest at premium prices.
What started as one woman’s vision has become a thriving organic food business that feeds Ugandan babies and families while building wealth in farming communities. Stina Foods is proof that when you invest in people, they invest in quality.
